On top of sheer 120m high cliffs, the exposed route offers stunning views of the Banks Peninsula and Christchurch and features a WWII coastal defence battery site built in 1939.
Easy // The track is well maintained and mostly flat, apart from an easy, gradual climb along the Crater Rim Track. This would suit someone who is after an easy and satisfying afternoon hike, with plenty of viewpoints along the way.

Due to the quality of tracks, you will not need too much gear. Good hiking boots or trainers are a must and poles will help to protect your knees on the way down. Bring plenty of water as there is no other location to fill up.
This hike will take approx. 3 hours to complete from leaving the centre of Christchurch.
